FAQ: Kingdom Rush Development

This is the FAQ for Kingdom Rush & Kingdom Rush sequel development. I'll try to keep this updated :).
Feel free to ask any questions below and i'll add them to the FAQ.


  1. What program did you use to create Kingdom Rush?
    Kingdom Rush and all of our flashgames were developed with Adobe Flash and Flash Develop for most of the coding.

  2. Are you going to make a version of Kingdom Rush for phones and tablets?
    Yes, we have already released a version for iPad devices and will be looking into taking to more platforms.

  3. Are you going to update Kingdom Rush with more content, stages, etc?
    Yes we have plans to add more premium stages to Kingdom Rush.

  4. Are you going to make a sequel of Kingdom Rush?
    Yes, we are already working on it.

  5. Is the sequel going to be an update for Kingdom Rush or an entirely new name like Kingdom Rush:Attack of zombies?
    The sequel will be a stand alone game with a new name like for example KR:Attack of the Zombies but different.

  6. How will the sequel be called?
    We haven't decided on a name yet, but it will not be called Kingdom Rush 2.

  7. Will the sequel be free to play?
    Yes, you will be able to play it for free at ArmorGames.

  8. When will the sequel be released?
    We don't have a specific date yet.
    It is very easy to miscalculate how much time it can take us to do something and we HATE not keeping our word or creating false expectations.


  9. Will the sequel continue the story from KR?
    Of course. It takes place some time after the events on KR.

  10. What will be new on the sequel?
    There will be 4 new specialist towers, all new terrains and stages with all new enemies.

  11. Will there be a multiplayer mode?
    No, there won't be any type of multiplayer mode. You will still be able to brag about your achievements and challenges.

  12. How is your progress going?
    We can't tell what has been finished or not because we go back and forward every day and many features are totally re-built many times. We push ourselves as hard as we can to bring our games and updates as soon as possible. Bringing you real-time information about our progress will take us precious developing time.

Will there be a 2 players mode ?
KR1 Fanmade Challenges
At the end of the experiment, you will be baked and then there will be cake.

There are no plans to add more content for KR at the moment, but we will update it to fix bugs.


Not even Survival mode ?

Another FAQ question: How much will the iOS version cost, will it be the same as the flash version and is premium included or will be a in app purchase ?

Glad to hear good news and old answers.
Sadly we won't learn what new things we will see in new KRush. That information for now, is the most important one.
Still, good luck, there is a lot of people waiting for the sequel.

It's is too early to know at this point. I don't want to say 3 months and then in 3 months tell you , it will take another 2 :)

darn, i am just so excited about this sequel, like how many new towers will there be, will there be a an extra spell or an extra type of reinforcement including the original. :lol:

My suggestions:

1. Knight's tower. Similar than the Barracks but with knight's as you may see in Demonrift TD (a great game similar than Kingdom Rush but KR is better :mrgreen: ) http://www.kongregate.com/games/menaragames/demonrift-td

2. Publish the game in Kong would give you many money

3. Fullscreen

4. Sandbox and/or Level editor would be huge.

5. Multiplayer :mrgreen:

1) Lvl3 Barracks soldiers are called Knights , and then at lvl4 they can become Paladins or Barbarians.
For the moment we won't have a specialist Knight, it would be too similar to the Paladin.
(Demonrifts looks very nice, reminded me of Defender Chronicles)

2) We will publish in Kong and many other sites.

3) Fullscreen could only be available on a standalone version if we make one.

4) We are looking at ways to include a sandbox/survival mode. No level editor sorry.

5) Not for Kingdom Rush, multiplayer would be a different game.

Mr. Veznan, concerning Knights:

Please add mounted Soldiers. It gives it that "Swords and Horses" feel to it that sometimes lacks in other Medieval games. Oooh, and please check out my "Suggestions" posts, until you hit "Naval Combat" or something.

We had an early mounted unit that didn't made into the game, maybe they can make an appearence... or maybe not.

The naval combat suggestion is really cool but it feels like a very different game, we would have to remake art for every asset to make it fit inside "ships", instead we may have a coast themed map, but not real naval combat.

Invasion mode is another thing that sounds cool but again for a whole new game. It just doesn't fit the current mechanics and concept, it would work way better as a game on its own.

ElfHuts, Soldiers and level curiosity, we have a few ideas there, we hope you all love :)
