Hello, Generals!

Dust off your traveling boots and keep your voices low, because today we are stepping into the emerald heart of the Kingdom. For this Genesis Devlog Friday, we’re revisiting a place that has seen its fair share of history… and spiders: the Silveroak Forest.

If you’ve been with us since the very first Kingdom Rush, you probably remember Silveroak as the elven lands. A "peaceful", lush forest that was, well, not so peaceful once the bandits and giant spiders showed up. From the corruption of the Ashervan coven to the time Alleria Swiftwind was taken prisoner by the Dark Army, these beautiful woods have weathered many storms.

But long before those battles, Silveroak began as a diplomatic bridge. A company of Elves was sent from the Kingdom of Aredhel to establish an embassy close to Linirea, founding what is now known as the Silveroak Village. It earned its name from the gorgeous silver-leaved tree anchored at the center of the outpost. Over time, the Elves developed a deep connection to this ancient tree.

Several conclaves have called these forests home, but one is legendary for its fight for Linirea’s freedom: the Conclave formed by Princess Alleria. As the daughter of the Elven Queen and the last of Elynie’s bloodline, our beloved heroine knows every path in Silveroak like the back of her hand. She perfected her mastery of the bow within these very woods, roaming the territory with her faithful Wildfang by her side.

In this stage of Kingdom Rush Genesis, an Orc raiding party has launched a sudden ambush under the cover of night. Alleria still calls these woods home at the time of Kingdom Rush Genesis, so she naturally joins the fight as a Stage Hero. As the guardian of Silveroak, Alleria cannot leave her forest to join Gerald, but she stands her ground here to ensure her lands and the Kingdom never fall.

As you can see, there are many iterations of our beloved heroine of Linirea in the franchise at this point! Her design in Genesis stays true to her appearance in the original Kingdom Rush and Origins to reflect the timeline. You’ll even notice Wildfang is still quite small, as it hasn't yet reached full size.

While Alleria is undoubtedly Linirea’s most talented archer, she isn’t the only sharpshooter in the Kingdom. In next week’s Devlog, we’ll be taking a closer look at the new Archer Towers and the creative process behind bringing them to life. Bulls eye!

weekly q&a

Anton: What is the origin of Malik's original hammer? In Blood Quarry it fell from the sky when Malik was released from his chains, but was it another being gifting him the hammer or was the creation of it an ability of Malik's?

A: You've definitely picked up on something significant! There’s a reason behind that timely arrival, and we can’t wait to reveal it to you all shortly.
