Hello, Generals!

It's Genesis Devlog Friday, and today we're shining a light on a mystery that's lurking in the very first stages. If you've played the demo, you've already crossed paths with them: bandits raiding the Citadel construction site, looting the Academy's library, and ambushing the roads of young Linirea. Back in Devlog #8, we told you there was more to these mysterious figures than meets the eye. 

Turns out, these cloaked ruffians are no common outlaws. They belong to the Shadow Order, a secret society of bandits and assassins operating from the darkest corners of the realm, set on seizing control of Linirea. And they aren't working alone: the Order at this time was hired by none other than Vez'nan, who promises them the power they crave in exchange for their blades.

Longtime Generals might already see where this is going. The Shadow Order is the precursor of the bandits you fought in the original Kingdom Rush. Those brigands and marauders harassing Linirea's borders years later? They all trace back to this criminal order, when it was just getting started.

That's all we can share about the Shadow Order for now. Next week, we're leaving the back alleys behind and going way, way back: the next chapter of the Primordials' ancient lore is coming.
