Hello, Generals!
It’s Genesis Devlog Friday, and we hope your aim is true! This week, we’re diving into the development of the true bread and butter of any defense: the Archer Towers. But before we string our bows, let’s address a topic that has sparked plenty of discussion: the tower system itself.

We know many of you miss the classic system from the original trilogy, while others prefer the tactical variety of the equipment system used in Vengeance and Alliance. For Genesis, we are continuing with the latter, adding even more depth with an upgrade tree specific for every tower. To our classic fans: don't worry, we have a surprise in the works just for you. We won't share more yet... but stay tuned!

Now without further ado, let's take a look at our first line of defense: the Archer Garrison. They are expert marksmen trained specifically to defend the people of Linirea, proudly displaying the blue and white shield as their banner. Because we are exploring the early days of Linirea, you’ll notice that materials like raw wood and simple stonework prevail, especially in the earlier levels.

Of course, it’s not only Linirean joining the fight. As we saw in last Friday’s devlog on the Silveroak Forest, elvenkind is also lending their bows with the Elven Elite Rangers. Compared to the Rangers Hideout we meet later in the timeline, these Elites focus much more on precision and potency. They are specialized marksmen who prefer to work alone to ensure every shot is a killing blow!

Whenever we revisit iconic towers, like the Archer Tower or the Rangers Hideout, our mission is to make sure they feel unique to the era. We don't want to just repeat the same models from previous games, but we want you to feel the history in their designs. Which version of these towers is your favorite?
Next week, we’ll be moving to the very foundations of the Kingdom, taking a look at the Construction of the Castle of Linirea, where we’ll explore the making of the Kingdom’s most iconic locations!
BIG NEWS: We will be hosting our first gameplay reveal on a livestream this coming Tuesday. Don't miss out on seeing these towers in action for the first time, set your reminder here. And to keep unlocking community rewards, make sure to Wishlist on Steam. We can’t thank you enough for your support!
Onward!

Q by Demon Goonie: I’m curious, when did Kingdom RUsh Genesis start planning and production?
A: Preproduction process was kicked off by the directors themselves at point during 2024, with more devs gradually joining the project around october-november. Production started shortly after releasing Colossal Dwarfare, and the team’s been hard at work since then!
